Connecting Students to the Project Management Community
We were excited to welcome students from Roane State Community College and University of Tennessee to our most recent Professional Development Day. Seeing students engage with experienced professionals, attend sessions, and take part in the broader project management community was truly energizing for our chapter.
ETPMI is actively working with both schools to create more opportunities for students to get involved, from attending events and networking with professionals to learning about project management career paths and PMI resources. By strengthening these partnerships, we hope to make our events more accessible to students while helping them build confidence, connections, and real-world insight early in their careers.
Supporting students and emerging professionals is an important part of ETPMI’s mission, and we look forward to continuing to grow these relationships and welcoming more students to future chapter events.
Volunteer Spotlight
This month, we’re excited to recognize Jessie Wilson, a student at the University of Tennessee, for her incredible support of our Professional Development Day (PDD)! From helping with event preparations ahead of time to jumping in wherever needed on the day of the event, Jessie played a key role in making PDD a success.
Her positive attitude, willingness to help, and reliability did not go unnoticed, and we’re so grateful for the time and energy she volunteered to support our chapter.
🙏 Thank you, Jessie, for stepping up and supporting ETPMI! We’re lucky to have such engaged and motivated students involved in our community.

Past Events Highlights
Professional Development Day (PDD) 2025 – Our Biggest Yet!
Our Professional Development Day 2025 was our biggest and most exciting PDD to date, and it sold out! Held on October 14, the event brought together project management professionals from across East Tennessee for a full day of learning, networking, and inspiration.
Attendees enjoyed engaging keynote sessions, dynamic breakout discussions, an insightful AI panel, and plenty of opportunities to connect with peers and local leaders. A huge thank-you to our speakers, sponsors, volunteers, and attendees who helped make this milestone event such a success. If you attended, we hope you left energized, inspired, and ready to grow, professionally and personally.
Closing Out the Year Together: PMI East TN & IIBA East TN Joint Event
We wrapped up the year with another successful collaboration between the PMI East Tennessee Chapter and the IIBA East Tennessee Chapter. On December 1, we gathered at Pilot Company’s headquarters for an evening focused on The Project Manager–Business Analyst Partnership: Co-Creating Value to Deliver Project Success.
The event featured a facilitated discussion and Q&A with Andy Lupo (CTO, Pilot Company) and Stephanie Flood (CIO, Clayton Homes), highlighting the power of cross-functional collaboration in today’s organizations. This free, joint event was a fantastic way to close out the year and reinforce the strong connection between the PM and BA communities in East Tennessee.
👉 Stay tuned, planning is already underway for our 2026 events, and we can’t wait to share what’s coming next!
