ETPMI is always looking for willing volunteers for many positions and needs of our chapter in support of our Project Management community.

How Much Time is Required? 

Volunteer opportunities range from short-term commitments of a few hours to long-term committee leadership roles.  ETPMI has many different opportunities available and the hours and skills required for each opportunity vary.

Current Openings

  • Director of Programs – Responsible for assisting VP of Programs with meetings and event planning.
  • Director of Professional Development - Responsible for assisting VP of Professional Development with PDD planning and with identifying training for members and coordination of study groups.

How do I Claim PDUs for my Time?

PDUs stand for Professional Development Units. PDUs are the measuring unit used to quantify your professional development as part of the Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) program. 1 PDU = 1 hour of learning/activity. All PMI certification holders must earn PDUs to actively maintain their PMI certification(s). These PDUs can be earned through various professional development activities that center on one of two areas:

  1. Education – Learning opportunities that allow you to expand and enhance your technical, leadership, or strategic and business management skills.
  2. Giving back to the Profession – Activities that enable you to share and utilize your knowledge and skills as a means to contribute to and help build the profession.

Volunteers are responsible for reporting their volunteer activities to PMI. In some instances, ETPMI will provide the necessary information or course number for local events in which the volunteer participated.

You do not need supporting documentation to report PDUs and renew your credential. When reporting your PDUs through CCRS, you will be directed to include specific information about the activity in the PDU claim form.

Note: PMI recommends you maintain a personal folder for all PDU-related documentation and keep this documentation for at least 18 months after your CCR cycle has ended. If you are randomly selected for an audit, you will need to provide this documentation.

Volunteer hours are reported as giving back PDUs. It is important to note that giving back PDUs cannot exceed the limits established by PMI for your particular certification.
