Project Management is important for all industries and organizations. Students who gain proficiency in this field can apply their skills to many careers. Recognizing these trends, the University of Tennessee Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering and the Project Management Institute (PMI) East Tennessee Chapter (ETPMI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote project management education, career development and research.

UT Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering Floyd Ostrowski, Ms. Stephanie Workman, VP of Professional Development, ETPMI and Dr. Nancy Crain Burns, Director of Academic University Outreach, ETPMI met to discuss the agreement and determine aspects that would work best for students.
