Joint Meeting: ETPMI and Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) Project Management Workshop

Joint Meeting: ETPMI and Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) Project Management Workshop

Join ETPMI and ORNL for a Project Management Workshop: "The Project Manager and Effective Leadership", presented by Tony Turner, PMP.

The PMBOK, 6th Edition states that the project manager plays an important role in the leadership of a project team to achieve the project’s objectives and stakeholders’ expectations. Often, though, project managers emphasize the management function of project management and deemphasize the leadership aspects. This discussion will provide information and suggestions to improve the leadership skills of project managers.

In this presentation, you will:

  • Examine the difference between leadership and management;
  • Discuss the Project Management Institute's view on leadership;
  • Discover 7 myths about leadership;
  • Discuss how to lead from anywhere in an organization;
  • Examine the characteristics, qualities, and skills of a good leader; and
  • Discuss how to hone your leadership skills.

Join ETPMI and ORNL on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 in Room 140 (Bredesen Training Center), Building 5100.
